On December 5, 1944 Zanger suffered an aerial collision over New Britain. He became a Prisoner Of War until “shot trying to escape”.

This site is devoted to documenting the efforts of his three nieces plus historians Henry Sakaida and Justin Taylan to honor Zanger’s legacy.
